One of the joys of being in Rwanda is discovering the little places and unexpected experiences that make getting to know Kigali so special. On one of our outings, we decided to visit Kigali Heights, a modern destination in the heart of the city, known for its restaurants, boutiques and beautiful views of Kigali and its lush, rolling surroundings.
The top floor features several restaurants, and we decided to try Java House. Unfortunately, the experience was a little disappointing. My tea seemed to contain more milk and water than anything else, and I wondered whether the tea bag had been forgotten altogether!

After our meal, we took a stroll around the Kigali Heights roundabout, where we discovered a delightful display of creativity. The In the Art World โ Season 4 collective art exhibition had recently taken place in the area around the Kigali Convention Centre (KCC) and Kigali Heights.
It was a pleasure to wander among the artworks and admire the talent on display. The artists were not only gifted but also welcoming and happy to talk about their creations and share the stories behind their work. These conversations added a personal touch to the experience, making the exhibition more than just a visual treat.

Despite our less-than-impressive tea experience, the visit turned into a lovely opportunity to appreciate Kigaliโs creative spirit and connect with the talented artists who bring it to life. Sometimes, itโs the unexpected discoveries along the way that make an outing memorable.
