Nestled in the heart of Kibagabaga, Kultura is a fine dining restaurant with a story that goes beyond the food on the plate.
The name Kultura, meaning culture, reflects the founders’ desire to bring people and cultures together through food, with a particular focus on South-East Asian cuisine.
The story of Chef Enrico, the culinary talent behind the restaurant, is quite inspiring. Chef Enrico’s culinary journey began at 18, working as a dishwasher in an Asian restaurant in the Philippines, where he discovered his passion for cooking. After moving to Kenya in 2008 and Kigali in 2010, he spent years perfecting his craft before co-founding Kultura Flavours of Asia, bringing his vision of celebrating cultures through South-East Asian cuisine to Kigali.
Today, the restaurant brings a fusion of Asian flavours to Kigali, with a vision of celebrating cultures and creating unique dining experiences.
We had the opportunity to visit and sample a variety of rolls. The restaurant is undeniably beautiful, with a lovely setting and a relaxing ambience. As a fine dining establishment, its prices reflect the experience.

Having enjoyed some wonderful Asian cuisine back in Toronto, I have to admit that, personally, the food didn’t quite live up to my expectations. But that is the beauty of exploring new places: we discover new stories, experience different approaches to familiar cuisines, and sometimes learn what we like—and what we don’t! However, I plan to return to review some more of their dishes.
Every outing is part of the adventure, and Kigali continues to offer plenty of opportunities to explore. ❤️
